About us

During more than a decade as a Collections Officer for Canada Revenue Agency, I received and adjudicated many requests for remission of penalty and interest. Some were well written but many applicants failed to make their case in sufficiently compelling terms. What too many taxpayers discover, is that it isn’t simply enough to know what TO say in a relief application; it’s also critically important to know what NOT to say. Unfortunately too many taxpayers include statements or information that may disqualify them for relief. Unless you know the legislation, what to say, and how to say it, you may be gambling with a significant sum of money by writing an application on your own. Taxpayer Relief Letters is a writing and consulting service that assists Canadians with the narrative portion of their applications for relief from penalties and interest. We assemble relief applications in clear, concise and truthful language. We know what to say and how to say it. In a few short years we’ve become the go-to service used by tax practitioners across the country for complicated relief applications and CRA collections matters.

We don’t require long drawn out meetings and we don’t usually need bundles of documents. A simple chat on the phone and/or a summary e-mail, and we can get started writing your relief letter.
